The New Year has been and gone and this constant rain has become a torrential disaster in many areas of Australia. We have been following the flood hashtags on Twitter, and wondering, as many of you are, how we can be of help.
Over on our website we have begun a list of useful resources under the broad heading Dealing With Wet Records which covers topics such as handling wet records, salvaging water damaged materials, and (more generally) disastersĀ and records.
The list will be updated.

A great idea to post Anthea! Another good link suggested by our Senior Conservator Elizabeth Hadlow is to the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material. They give information about salvaging water damaged material and have also posted information about the disaster response to the Queensland Floods on their home page.

First: Good Idea!
IĀ“m looking for a list with archives, which have any flood damage. I want to publish a little entry in the German archival blog “Archivalia” (link above)? Thanks in advance.
Fiona Sullivan says:
Thanks Thomas, I suspect that news about flood damaged Archives and Libraries will filter out gradually.
