This week we have landed in the Murray region – in Dean Street, Albury. We have cars (and bicycles), fashion, store names, a town hall (?) and loads of hustle and bustle. Can you help us to date this photo?
Scheyville Centenary – Join in the Celebrations
On Sunday 15 May 2011, Scheyville National Park is hosting a Centenary Celebration for past residents. Scheyville has been used for a number of different purposes over the years including;a government training farm (in association with the Dreadnought Immigration Scheme), an internment camp, and a military training site.

Anzacs – from the trenches
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign in 2015 State Records NSW will be highlighting a selection of state archives relating to NSW soldiers and nurses that encapsulate the Anzac spirit! Take a look at some of our first entries.
The Mysterious Cenotaph Photograph
One of the mysteries that our Archivists came across involved a photograph in the collection that was of a gathering around the Cenotaph in Martin Place, Sydney. At first glance you would think it is clearly of an occasion like Anzac Day or Remembrance Day. However, the date given was February 1929. Why were people gathering around the monument? Learn the results of our investigations here.

The image is obviously of an official occasion, most likely the welcoming of some important people (possibly, the man and woman in the centre front) to Wagga but we don’t know who they are or when it was taken.

On the 19th of March 1932 the Sydney Harbour Bridge was officially opened. To mark the 79th Anniversary of this occassion our Digitisation Officer Tara Majoor has put together a photographic montage of the construction of the bridge.
