9:27am – There are two people in the ‘meeting room’. They are part of a larger syndicate group called the ‘Exhibition Committee’. Members come from far and wide across the organisation – I hear talk that they each represent a different phase of the project.

Macquarie 2010 – celebrating 200 years
On this day, 200 years ago, Lachlan Macquarie became Governor of New South Wales. State Records NSW has put together a digital gallery to celebrate Macquarie, who was governor of New South Wales from 1 January 1810 – 1 December 1821.
Results of the ‘glove’ poll
The ‘glove’ poll has been closed and the results are in. It’s almost neck and neck with nitrile gloves (29%) vs cotton gloves (26%).
Quick poll: do your readers use gloves when accessing archives
On the whole the preferred choice of glove is nitrile. I’m curious to know whether your readers have a ‘glove preference’ when accessing your archives? Or if readers are required to wear them?

OK, it’s retrieval time; OMG, how exciting! The clerk on retrieval duty is on her way to collect me. Boy, does she have a long way to walk. The retrieval staff at State Records NSW walk, on average, 10-12km a day. According to her GCC pedometer she has already walked 15,564 steps.
